How we check sources
Name Change Steps only publishes fees, forms and deadlines that come from official .gov pages. Every detail on a checklist shows its source link and the date we checked it. If we could not confirm a value, we show "Not confirmed yet" instead of guessing.
What counts as a confirmed fact?
A fact is marked confirmed only when the quoted sentence appears in a saved snapshot of the official page. Facts we found another way stay labeled "Being re-checked." If we don't know a value, we leave it blank and flag it.
- Being re-checked
This came from the official page, and we're checking it a second time.
- Not confirmed yet
We couldn't confirm this yet. Please check the official link.
