Step 1 of 6
Get certified copies of your marriage certificate
Most offices want an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, not a photocopy, so order a few.
- Where to order
To change your name after marriage in North Dakota, update Social Security, then visit any North Dakota DOT driver license site in person. A replacement license costs $3 if you are not renewing at the same time, and a new photo is taken. Then update your passport, voter registration and accounts.
